Quick access to information about your equipment on site
An HVAC contractor had been sent to install a new RTU (roof top unit) for one of our buildings. The contractor responsible for removing the old unit and installing the new one, failed to witness the old unit ran off of a single phase system.
The new unit purchased was for a three phase system. This is a big problem as a three phase system requires three hot legs to operate, something a single phase does not have. Because of this mistake, the company had to eventually purchase another system to fit the building requirements.
This delayed the project, left the tenant using temporary heating for another week, and left the contractor a with a bill for a few thousand dollars in purchasing a new unit.
